I woke up this morning thinking about my time in University studying Anthropology and Social Anthropology. In Sociology I tended to gear towards youth culture and media courses, always looking for a way to bring fashion into my essays. My fourth year at University culminated in a 10,000 word dissertation entitled 'Status and hierarchy amoungst fashion designers', within this I interviewed several young Scottish designers, aiming to stake their win in the industry. Two years on and they are reaching the peaks of the mountain that is success and good publicity within the fashion industry.

One of these designers, Holly Fulton, this week, made it into the top 20 of the Sunday time's 'Fashion's finest'. Her name is constantly cropping up accross the pages of Grazia and Elle due to her individual use of print, colour and embelishment (see image above). Her press release for SS10 is really interesting and I love the imagery that it creates in one's mind - it is reflected directly onto the collection.
Going to pop out to homebase for some sample colours, still feeling very inspired by heathery Scottish hues after my trip to inverness last week and the evening colours of the hills surrounding my flat!
